the greenest of blue days

Description

When I orignally started this, there were many things in mind. Numerous emotions and half-thoughts, swirling about.

This did not quite turn out how I intended, but things rarely do.

Acrylic paints - craft paints in green, brown, blue, and white thick artist's acrylic mixed together. Used the small white makeup sponges - took extremely long, frustrating, but was cathartic in ways. They began to shred as more paint soaked into them, which made me think more as I was applying the paint as to exactly what was being done.

Single light source, the 500 watt hot-light that was much too warm that day. A piece of black fabric behind - $20 at the fabric store? - and a scarf that I bought many years ago.

I have more lights now than I did in January, so the next time I paint, should be slightly better, I hope. (As well as having better ways to apply the paint).

Ended up in the portfolio that went to Sheridan and Humber - a lot of people seemed to like this when viewing prints of it in person :O_o:

That's gorgeous, as I know many have already indicated, but I would almost say the only issue I have is those flowers on the scarf's edge. They seem out of place with the weird surrealism of the image. GREAt colors.
